About Gentry Glass

My journey into glass started through fire, ceramics, and a little cosmic timing.

From Fire to Flame

At the heart of my craft is a passion that began in an unexpected place: the study of Industrial Ceramic Engineering. Here, I first learned the science behind ceramics, combustion, and eventually glass. The more I delved into this fascinating material, the more I realized how glass serves as the “glue” between the microscopic minerals in ceramics. This understanding ignited a deep curiosity that quickly evolved into an obsession.

About the Artist

Every piece I make is built on 12+ years of torchwork, refined technique, and a serious respect for function. Gentry Glass is a one-man operation focused on clean craftsmanship, balanced design, and reliable performance. Whether it’s a daily driver or a custom showpiece, you’re getting glass made with intention and made to last.

From Curiosity to Passion

I started watching flameworking videos on YouTube, artists melting glass on small tabletop torches, creating pipes and sculptures. I was hooked, but didn’t know how to take the next step. Then, one day, everything aligned.

While randomly browsing Craigslist, I found a listing from someone named Adam looking for an apprentice glassblower. I reached out and made plans to meet him that evening. Hours later, completely unaware of that, my sister texted me:
“Do you still want to learn to blow glass? I know a guy named Adam…”

It turns out, it was the same Adam.

The Beginning of a New Chapter

That night, I met Adam at his backyard glass shop a humble wooden shed, and the moment I got behind the torch and melted glass for the first time, I knew. This is what I was put here to do.

Adam eventually hired me to work at a local beer and wine supply store, which happened to have a fully outfitted glassblowing table in the warehouse. He invited artists from all over to come work there, and I practically lived in that shop. Being around so much talent in the early days helped me grow fast.

Turning Passion Into a Craft

Since then, I’ve worked in multiple studios and eventually built my own glass shop in my home garage, where I’ve been melting full-time since 2017. Every piece I make carries a part of that journey, from fire and obsession, to family, fate, and finally, flame.
